Qualifications

• Two years of emergency room experience.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure with the State Board of Nursing.
• Current BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC preferred.
• Education appropriate for meeting age-specific needs in the emergency center.
• Annual clinical competency validation.
• Must read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and psychosocial evaluations to determine condition severity.
• Assign triage categories based on urgency.
• Provide emergency care across all ages following protocols.
• Administer medications accurately per five rights.
• Supervise ED staff and ensure collaborative workflow.
• Explain procedures and plans to patients and families for education and advocacy.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team on care plans.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety.
• Engage in ongoing training and quality improvement activities.
