Job summary

Responsibilities include supervising ED staff, administering meds with the five rights, and maintaining licensure while advancing education. Excellent communication and patient advocacy are required for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Emergency Room experience.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Licensure with the State Board of Nurse Examiners for their state.
• Current BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC preferred.
• Age-specific care for neonates to geriatrics in emergency settings.
• Maintain annual clinical competency and licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care to all ages in a safe and efficient manner with triage.
• Supervise ER Techs, Radiology/CT Techs, and other staff in the ED.
• Maintain knowledge of medications and follow the five rights of administration.
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians and staff professionally.
• Maintain a clean working environment and participate in staff development.
• Maintain licensure and participate in continuing education and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
