Job summary

Emerus is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Room team on the day shift (7a-7p) as a PRN position at the Overlook facility. The role centers on direct patient assessment, planning, directing and evaluating nursing care, ensuring safety, accuracy of records and adherence to clinical standards.

The nurse will provide age-appropriate care, document diligently, monitor patient status, and collaborate with physicians to adjust interventions as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current state RN license without sanctions.
• 2+ years RN ER experience required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from AHA or ARC; TNCC preferred.
• English fluency; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-specific nursing care in the ER, applying advanced clinical knowledge.
• Complete accurate, concise medical records documentation.
• Observe and record vital signs, symptoms and patient status.
• Propose revisions to interventions and expected outcomes.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Follow physician orders in delivering nursing care.
• Collect samples and perform lab testing per policy and regulations.
• Adhere to infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Coordinate admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Prepare equipment for procedures and support staff during treatments.
