Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Georgia is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians for their busy Emergency and Critical Care department. The role offers exposure to a fast-paced environment and opportunities to advance clinical skills while working alongside skilled veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will assist with anesthesia, triage, radiography, CPR, and complex patient care.

Qualifications

• Veterinary technicians with emergency/critical care exposure (preferred).
• Strong patient care, compassion, and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure).
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Understand normal vital sign ranges and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitals; notify vet of issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other co-workers.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
