As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, triage cases, perform radiography, and manage critical vitals.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Veterinary Technician in an emergency/critical care setting.
• Ability to induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Strong airway management and monitoring skills.
• Proficiency with digital radiography and proper technique.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals (temperature, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Understand normal vital sign ranges and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vitals; alert team to issues.
• Identify at-risk patients and initiate CPR when needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters in peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train co-workers; address client concerns with empathy.
