BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking experienced Locum Veterinary Technicians to join our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. The role offers competitive pay and shift differentials, with opportunities to grow alongside seasoned veterinary professionals.

You will assist with anesthesia, triage emergencies, radiography, and critical patient care, while mentoring teammates and addressing client concerns. A strong drive for excellence and adaptability is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary technician in emergency/critical care settings.
• Ability to induce and monitor anesthesia and use related equipment.
• Proficiency in triage, vitals, radiography, and patient handling.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients.
• Triage emergencies and record vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with correct positioning.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• CPR when needed and manage vascular access.
• Assist with phlebotomy and IV catheter placement.
• Support feeding tubes and central line care.
• Mentor and train other staff.
• Demonstrate empathy in client interactions.
