Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in the United States is seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians to join our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. You will work under a leveling system with a starting pay band and competitive shift differentials for nights and weekends.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia, triage emergencies, perform digital radiography, monitor vitals, and support veterinarians with critical care procedures.

Qualifications

• Licensed or Certified Veterinary Technician with practical ER/CC experience.
• Experience in anesthesia induction, monitoring, recovery for emergency patients.
• Ability to triage, obtain vitals, and communicate patient status to veterinarians.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients.
• Triage emergency cases and obtain vitals (temp, HR, RR, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Understand normal vitals ranges and alert veterinarians to changes.
• Interpret blood pressure and other vital signs; respond to fluctuations.
• Identify arrest risk and initiate CPR when needed.
• Calculate meds and administer via correct routes and durations.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Place feeding tubes and central lines as required.
• Mentor and train fellow staff; address client concerns.
