VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists in Clackamas, OR is hiring a full-time ER/ICU Technician Assistant to support doctors and technicians during emergencies and ICU care. The role emphasizes compassionate client service, patient care, and collaboration with a diverse team.

The position requires at least one year of veterinary experience, a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• One year of veterinary experience or more.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent listening and written/spoken communication skills.
• Compassion for pets and people, tolerant of others' choices.
• Proven ability to make appropriate decisions.

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency cases.
• Collect laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces).
• Process laboratory samples in-house and for outside labs.
• Prepare samples for external labs.
• Assist clients through euthanasia process.
• Answer multi-line telephone lines.
• Manage medical records, reports and correspondence.
• Other duties as needed by the hospital.
