VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists is a fast growing, 24/7 specialty and emergency/critical care hospital seeking a full‑time ER/ICU Technician Assistant.
Location & Compensation
Location: 16756 SE 82nd Dr, Clackamas, OR 97015
Compensation: $21 – $25 / hr
Schedule
Thursday through Saturday 12pm to 12am
Qualifications
- At least one year of veterinary experience.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Excellent listening and communication skills: both verbal and written.
- Compassion for pets and people -- awareness, understanding and respect for others' choices.
- Proven decision‑making skills.
- Ability to integrate new information into problem solving.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergens, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Triage of emergency cases.
- Collecting laboratory samples such as blood, urine and feces.
- Processing laboratory samples in-house.
- Preparing laboratory samples for outside labs.
- Helping clients through the euthanasia process.
- Answering multi‑line telephones.
- Managing medical records, reports and correspondence.
- Additional duties may be required based on the needs of the business.
