Job summary

VCA Animal Hospitals is seeking a full-time ER/ICU Technician Assistant to join their fast-growing specialty and emergency care team. The role requires at least one year of veterinary experience and excellent communication skills to assist with various responsibilities, including triage and lab sample collection.

VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists is a fast growing, 24/7 specialty and emergency/critical care hospital seeking a full‑time ER/ICU Technician Assistant.

Location & Compensation

Location: 16756 SE 82nd Dr, Clackamas, OR 97015

Compensation: $21 – $25 / hr

Schedule

Thursday through Saturday 12pm to 12am

Qualifications

• At least one year of veterinary experience.
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Excellent listening and communication skills: both verbal and written.
• Compassion for pets and people -- awareness, understanding and respect for others' choices.
• Proven decision‑making skills.
• Ability to integrate new information into problem solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and be exposed to hazards associated with pets such as allergens, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Triage of emergency cases.
• Collecting laboratory samples such as blood, urine and feces.
• Processing laboratory samples in-house.
• Preparing laboratory samples for outside labs.
• Helping clients through the euthanasia process.
• Answering multi‑line telephones.
• Managing medical records, reports and correspondence.
• Additional duties may be required based on the needs of the business.
