Job summary

Intermountain Health in Colorado is seeking an Emergency Department Float Pool RN to support multiple ED and acute care areas. You will float to departments as needed, delivering evidence-based care with a collaborative team in a high-acuity environment.

The role emphasizes rapid assessments, decisive interventions, and patient education, with a 36-hour weekly schedule and a 10% float differential. A BSN is required, with flexible working arrangements across days/nights.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice; compact licenses must transfer within 60 days.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• BSN required; degree will be verified.
• RNs with <12 months experience must obtain BSN within 4 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency settings.
• Perform rapid patient assessments and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, technicians, and teams.
• Administer medications and procedures per policies and standards.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and follow-up care.
