Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, seeks an experienced Emergency Department Float Pool RN to support fast-paced, high-acuity care across departments. You will float to ED and other acute areas based on need, delivering evidence-based nursing care with clinical competency.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice.
• BSN required; degree will be verified.
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain BSN within four years of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with organizational policies and clinical standards.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workflows, patient volumes, and acuity levels while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Support a culture of teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
