Job summary

Intermountain Health in Wheat Ridge, CO is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Float Pool RN to support fast-paced, high-acuity care across departments. The role involves floating to ED and other acute areas based on patient need, with collaboration from physicians and trauma teams.

The position offers 36 scheduled hours per week, day or night shifts, and a competitive hourly rate. A BSN is required, with state RN license and BLS, and a 60-day license transfer for compact jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice; license transfer for compact states within 60 days.
• Minimum one year of RN experience.
• BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN is required; degree will be verified.
• RNs with <12 months experience must obtain BSN within four years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses and emergencies.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per policies and standards.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Adapt quickly to varying workloads and acuity while maintaining safety and quality.
• Support a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
