Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department Float Pool in Colorado. The RN will float to ED and other units as needed, delivering evidence-based nursing care in a high-acuity setting.

The role emphasizes rapid assessment, prioritization, teamwork, and patient education, with a 36-hour weekly schedule and a 10% float differential. A BSN is required and ongoing growth is supported.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum one year of RN experience.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers.
• BSN is required. Degree will be verified.
• RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their BSN within four years of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in fast-paced emergency care environments.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, prioritize care, and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide care to patients with a wide range of illnesses, injuries, and emergency conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures per policies and standards.
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
