Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) invites veterinarians to join the New ER Doctor (NERD) program, a six-month, immersive training to become an VEG ER doctor. You’ll receive 160+ RACE-approved CE hours, hands-on ER experience, and mentorship, with the potential to transition to a full-time ER doctor at VEG after successful completion.

Compensation is strong during the program, with a base salary and benefits, plus relocation support and career growth opportunities in a fast-paced, open-concept ER

Qualifications

• A passion for helping others.
• A valid DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree.
• Be a practicing veterinarian for 1+ years.
• A desire to live and breathe emergency medicine.
• A valid license to practice veterinary medicine, plus a valid DEA registration in the start state.

Responsibilities

• Participate in VEG’s NERD program, a six-month immersive ER training.
• Engage in 3–4 hospital shifts per week plus weekly case discussions, literature reviews, and hands-on training.
