The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support nurses and physicians in a fast-paced ED. You will perform tasks within your scope of practice under direct supervision and contribute to compassionate patient care, monitoring vital signs and assisting with procedures.

Qualified candidates hold a RI Nursing Assistant license or Medical Assistant training (≥9 months), an EMT license, BLS, and basic computer skills.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalency; English literacy required.
• BLS certification required.
• RI Nursing Assistant license or Medical Assistant training program (≥9 months) required.
• Current EMT license; exceptions may apply for transferable medical training.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and assist with patient care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Perform tasks such as EKGs, vitals, phlebotomy, patient monitoring and CPR support.
• Accurately document data in the EHR and support downtime procedures.
• Restock supplies and maintain infection control in treatment areas.
• Transport patients and assist with procedures and equipment as needed.

High School Diploma or equivalency

American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)

Current Rhode Island nursing assistant license or graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program (9 months or longer)

Current EMT license
