Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking an Admissions Specialist for Admitting ER on a PRN basis. You will greet patients, gather demographics, verify benefits, and assist with pre-certifications to ensure smooth ED visits. Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of customer service experience required.
• 2 years of professional office/healthcare experience preferred.
• CHAA certification preferred upon hire.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention training required within 60 days of hire.
• Proficient with Epic, Microsoft Office and related software.
• Exhibits a professional, courteous presence with strong listening and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families, setting a calm tone upon arrival.
• Collect complete demographic information to ensure EHR integrity.
• Identify network coverage and obtain/verify benefits and pre-certifications for applicable tests/procedures.
• Educate patients/families about applicable legal, ethical, and compliance documents; ensure consents signed.
• Explain financial obligations and prepare estimates for co-pays and balances.
• Ensure MSPQ, IMM, ABN/Non-Coverage checks are completed accurately.
• Maintain customer service and productivity guidelines as directed.
