Fresno City College seeks an instructor to join its Communication Arts department as part of a part-time faculty pool. You will teach a variety of Communication Arts courses, using diverse teaching methods including online and hybrid formats, while engaging with a diverse student body to support equity-minded outcomes.

The role requires strong communication skills, collaboration with faculty, and adherence to college policies.

Qualifications

• Evidence of equity-minded practice addressing diverse student backgrounds.
• Master’s in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s in any above and Master’s in drama/theater arts, mass communication or English.
• A valid California Community College Credential or equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Teaching a part-time schedule of Communication Arts courses as assigned.
• Using diverse pedagogies and formats including face-to-face, online, and hybrid.
• Communicating effectively with students, faculty and staff.
• Maintaining course outlines and institutionally approved curricula.
• Evaluating student progress and providing timely grading and reports.
• Maintaining accurate classroom records per District Policy.
• Fulfilling duties per Administrative Regulation 7122 and other duties as assigned.

Education

Master’s in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication or organizational communication

Bachelor’s in any of the above and Master’s in drama/theater arts, mass communication or English
