Job summary

West Valley College is seeking a Program Director II to lead TRIO, EOPS/CARE, CalWORKs, and NextUp programs within Student Services. The role requires strategic management, collaboration with college partners, and a commitment to equity and student success.

The position reports to the Dean of Academic Counseling and Student Success and leads a team to recruit, support, and retain underrepresented students in alignment with Federal and state requirements. Anticipated start November 2026.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with formal leadership training or equivalent.
• Supervisor’s credential or higher.
• Two years of experience in management/administration addressing underserved populations.
• Six college units focusing on ethnic minorities, disabilities, or related topics.

Responsibilities

• Administer, develop, and supervise the TRIO/EOPS/CARE/CalWORKs/NextUp programs.
• Evaluate operations and improve service delivery and outcomes.
• Lead budgeting, monitoring, and reporting for assigned programs.
• Coordinate with faculty, student services, and external partners to meet program requirements.
• Oversee grant applications and reporting; ensure compliance with regulations.

Education

Master’s degree; leadership training/related experience

Community College Supervisor’s Credential

Two years experience with disadvantaged populations/education programs

Six units of coursework related to ethnic minorities or disabilities
