Job summary

West Valley College, part of the West Valley-Mission Community College District, is seeking a Program Director II for TRIO, EOPS/CARE, CalWORKs and NextUp. This exempt management position reports to the Dean of Academic Counseling and Student Success and requires equity-minded leadership to support underrepresented students.

The successful candidate will plan, organize, and direct programs, ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, and collaborate across divisions to advance student

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; plus one year of leadership training or related experience.
• Community College Supervisor’s Credential.
• Two years of relevant experience with focus on ethnic minorities or disadvantaged groups.
• Six college units related to ethnic minorities or disadvantaged groups.
• Understanding and sensitivity to diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Administer, develop, organize, coordinate, implement and supervise program operations.
• Budget preparation and administration; monitor expenditures; ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with faculty and administrators to improve program delivery to students.
• Liaise with external agencies and organizations related to the program.
• Plan and oversee work of staff involved in program support.
• Recruit, hire, orient, contract, and schedule instructors.
