Job summary

West Valley College seeks a strategic and student-centered Program Director II to lead TRIO, EOPS/CARE, CalWORKs and NextUp within the Division of Student Services. The role requires directing program activities, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and collaborating across divisions to advance student success.

The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree (or supervisor credential) and at least two years of relevant leadership experience, with a strong commitment to equity

Qualifications

  • Master's degree; AND One year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator's assignment; OR Possess a Community College Supervisor's Credential.
  • Two years of experience, within the last four years, with one of the following: management/administration of educational programs or experience as a community college EOPS counselor/instructor or comparable work with disadvantaged clientele.
  • Completion of a minimum of six units of college-level coursework predominantly relating to ethnic minorities or persons handicapped by educational, language, or social disadvantages.
  • Understanding of and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, develop, organize, coordinate, implement and supervise the operations and activities of the assigned program.
  • Evaluate operations and activities; implement improvements; collect and compile data and prepare reports.
  • Plan, develop and oversee the work of technical and clerical staff involved in program support.
  • Hire, contract, plan, and direct activities of outside contractors; manage grants and reporting.
