Job summary

Envision Education in Hayward, California seeks a College Counselor to sustain a college-going culture and support seniors through applications and transition to college and careers. Reporting to the Principal, you will guide 12th graders, craft college lists, and coordinate with families.

Qualifications

• Commitment to the mission of Envision Education.
• Commitment to anti-racist and pro-Black ideologies in the workplace.
• 2+ years of experience in a school setting preferred with extensive knowledge of the college admissions and financial aid processes.

Responsibilities

• Support and guide all 12th grade students through each step of the college and financial aid application process
• Provide one-on-one college counseling to seniors through the admissions cycle including creating a college list and advising on financial aid
• Work closely with parents and guardians of all students on caseload, including evening workshops and meetings for families
• Plan and lead workshops for parents and other stakeholders on key topics related to the college admissions process
• Develop and maintain parent/family outreach and engagement systems.
