Job summary

Fresno City College, part of the State Center Community College District, seeks an Equity-minded Counselor for EOPS/Care and NextUp to support a diverse student population. The role reports to the Director of Student Success Programs and covers a full range of counseling responsibilities, including academic, career, transfer, and personal counseling.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate commitment to closing equity gaps, collaborate with faculty and staff, and participate in program evaluation

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling or related field and required credentials.
• Nine semester units related to ethnic minorities or persons disadvantaged by language, social or economic disadvantages, or equivalent.
• Two years of occupational experience related to ethnic minorities or disadvantaged groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive counseling services including personal, career and educational counseling.
• Develop student education plans (SEPs) and assist with major selection and transfer planning.
• Counsel for certificate, vocational, associate degree, and transfer programs.
• Support underrepresented student populations and equity initiatives.
• Engage in matriculation activities and student success initiatives.
