Job summary

Summer Search Bay Area seeks a High School Mentor to manage a caseload of about 40 students, providing regular mentoring through groups and individual conversations from sophomore to junior year. Hybrid role based in Oakland with a strong focus on equity, mentorship, and post-secondary readiness.

You will engage families, support school partnerships, and participate in data-driven program improvement while fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment for diverse youth.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional experience working with student populations.
• Group facilitation experience is strongly desired.
• Academic or applied knowledge of adolescent development is preferred.
• Spanish or Haitian Creole language skills are a plus.
• Experience with meticulous data tracking using a database is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a caseload of high school participants and conduct regular mentoring at school, in the office, or by phone.
• Facilitate sessions using adolescent development frameworks and culturally relevant practices.
• Support post-secondary readiness and engage families about opportunities.
• Maintain data in program systems and contribute to program evaluation.
