Job summary

City of Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a 2nd shift equipment technician to assist mechanics with light and heavy equipment. The role includes preventative maintenance, small repairs, and preparing equipment for service.

Shuttling vehicles, maintaining the fuel island, and assisting with parts runs are also expected. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related work experience; equivalent combinations are acceptable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of related work experience servicing light and heavy equipment preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative maintenance on heavy and light equipment.
• Makes small repairs of equipment and assists mechanics.
• Shuttles vehicles to local shops and maintains the fuel island area.
• Inspects major systems and assists with service calls.
