Job summary

The City of Grand Rapids is seeking a Maintenance Technician to service and perform minor repairs on a range of equipment, from small engines to heavy equipment. You will assist mechanics, move vehicles between departments and vendors, and support shipping/receiving and parts runs.

Strong safety practices are essential. A high school diploma or GED is required, with at least 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of training and education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of related work experience servicing light and heavy equipment.
• Any equivalent training/education leading to required skills acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment from small engines to heavy machinery.
• Assist mechanics and transport vehicles between departments and vendors.
• Support tire shop operations and basic repairs on equipment.
• Assist stockroom with shipping/receiving and parts runs.
• Ensure safety standards and proper use of tools.
