Job summary

The Virginia State Police seeks an Equipment Repair Tech Install (W) DSPW0443 to perform removal, installation and repair of police, communications and other electronic equipment in VSP vehicles. This on-site position is located in North Chesterfield, Virginia, with an hourly pay range of $21.00 to $29.00 negotiable and commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge:

  • Experience or training in the mechanical, electrical, electronic or automotive field.

Skills:

  • Skill in the safe use of shop and mechanical hand tools.

Abilities:

  • Ability to use various tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read diagrams or schematics.
  • Experience in the electrical, electronic, mechanical, or automotive vocation required.
  • Motor vehicle operator’s license required.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
  • Virginia State Inspection certification preferred.
