Equipment Operator - Telecom Construction

$20.00/hr - $27.00/hr

Job Overview

Discover a more connected Operator Telecom Construction career at Star Construction. As an Operator Telecom Construction, you'll operate various equipment used in installation, repair, and maintenance activities related to underground construction or utilities, ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

1. Operate drill equipment safely on the jobsite, including directional drills, backhoes/excavators, skid steers, tractor trailers (for moving equipment or hauling water), vacuum trucks/trailers.
2. Restore and landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite.
3. Develop and maintain bore schedules.
4. Handle site setup and cleanup.
5. Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment.
6. Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before starting construction.
7. Set up safety perimeters with signage, cones, barriers, and sometimes flag traffic.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Experience with drilling equipment and utility locators.
• Ability to understand work orders, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Additional qualifications may include a valid Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and a clean MVR.

Physical & Work Conditions

Work involves operating heavy machinery, working alone in remote or confined spaces, and lifting over 55 pounds. Exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and varying weather conditions is possible.
