Job summary

The Dolomite Group, a CRH Company, is seeking an Equipment Operator & Plant Maintenance professional to diagnose, adjust, and repair plant equipment. You will operate off-road heavy-duty trucks and other quarry equipment, with training provided to broaden experience across the aggregate facility.

Responsibilities include dismantling and inspecting components, performing routine maintenance, and testing machinery to ensure performance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Mechanically inclined; training provided.
• Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts.
• Maintain current driver’s license.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and reassemble heavy plant components using hoists and hand tools.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials with trucks and related machinery.
• Operate and inspect machines to diagnose defects and replace worn parts.
• Test machinery after repair to ensure performance per specifications.
• Examine parts for damage or wear using gauges and micrometers.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes and lubrication.
• Adhere to safety requirements per the EH&S Manual.

Equipment Operator & Plant Maintenance (Maintenance)

Position Overview

This position involves the safe and efficient diagnosis, adjustment, and repair of plant equipment. Operate one or several types of equipment including an off-road heavy-duty truck, water truck, quarry truck and stock truck. Dolomite will also provide training for this position, as well as in other areas of the aggregate production facility to widen opportunities and experience.

Compensation and Company Benefits

• $23.50-$27.50 an hour

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and reassemble heavy plant components using hoists and hand tools.
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, or other materials, using trucks, crawler tractors, power cranes, shovels, graders, or related equipment. Also use of stone crushers, screens, conveyors, etc
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects. Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, changing filters, taking oil samples, and lubricating equipment and machinery.
• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Mechanically inclined, previous mining experience preferred, but not necessary. Training will be provided
• Ability to promote and participate in team environment concepts
• Be able to interact professionally with vendors, plant employees, and different levels of management
• Maintain current driver's license
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision
• Available to work extended hours throughout the year to include nights and weekends when necessary. Opportunities for overtime.
• High regard for safety standards
• Travel may be required

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to drive a 40, 50, or 60 ton truck, an articulated stock truck or water truck for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders. The employee is required to climb a vertical ladder into the vehicle. The employee must occasionally life and/ or move anywhere up to 50 lbs.
