The Dolomite Group, a CRH Company, is seeking an Equipment Operator & Plant Maintenance professional to diagnose, adjust, and repair plant equipment such as crushers, screens, and conveyors, while operating heavy trucks around the facility.

This role involves cross-training across the aggregate operation, emphasizing safety and adherence to company policies, with growth opportunities within the Dolomite network.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Mining experience preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Dismantle and reassemble heavy plant components using hoists and hand tools.
• Repair or replace damaged parts and inspect for wear.
• Diagnose mechanical issues with inspection methods and diagnostic tools.
• Test equipment after repair to ensure proper performance and safety compliance.
• Perform routine maintenance including lubrication and filter changes.
• Read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Operate heavy equipment such as haul trucks and graders.
• Load and transport materials within the facility.
• Adhere to OSHA/MSHA safety regulations and PPE requirements.

Summary

This skilled position is responsible for the safe and efficient diagnosis, adjustment, and repair of plant equipment, including stone crushers, screens, conveyors, and related machinery. The role also involves operating various types of heavy equipment such as off-road haul trucks, water trucks, quarry trucks, and stock trucks. Team members will receive cross-training in multiple areas of the aggregate production facility, with opportunities for growth and advancement.

Compensation and Company Benefits

• $23.50-$27.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Dismantle and reassemble heavy plant components using hoists and hand tools
• Repair or replace damaged and worn parts
• Diagnose mechanical issues using inspection methods and diagnostic tools, including computerized test equipment
• Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications
• Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication, oil and filter changes, and equipment cleaning
• Examine parts for wear using micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools
• Read and interpret operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Operate heavy equipment such as haul trucks, water trucks, crawler tractors, cranes, shovels, graders, and related machinery
• Load, move, and transport materials including dirt, rock, and equipment
• Follow all OSHA/MSHA safety regulations and wear required PPE in designated areas
• Ensure compliance with company standards for equipment operation, material handling, and product movement
• Maintain strict adherence to Dolomite policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Mechanically inclined, previous mining experience preferred

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this role, employees may be required to operate 40-, 50-, or 60-ton trucks, articulated stock trucks, or water trucks for extended periods. The position frequently requires crawling, kneeling, bending, climbing vertical ladders, and reaching above shoulder height. Employees must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
