Job summary

City of Pasadena, TX is seeking an Equipment Operator I to operate truck, tractors with attachments, loaders and other equipment on mowing and debris-removal projects. You will perform heavy manual labor such as vegetation clearance, landscaping, tree trimming, and debris removal while following safety procedures.

You will inspect areas for hazards, conduct routine maintenance on equipment, and assist crew members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Clean driving record; valid Texas driver’s license.
• Preferred: Texas Commercial Driver's License Class B (CDL).

Responsibilities

• Operate truck-trailer, tractors with attachments, loaders, sprayers, sweepers, forklifts, backhoes, water truck, box truck, and other equipment to complete projects.
• Perform heavy manual labor: mowing, vegetation clearance, landscaping, tree trimming, debris removal.
• Follow safety procedures to protect City equipment, property, and people.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks on mowing equipment and hand/power tools.
• Inspect work area for hazards (manhole covers, rocks, gas lines, debris).
• Assist crew; may lead a crew and train others.
• Maintain records of work performed and drive City vehicle to sites.
