Job summary

City of Pasadena is seeking a landscape maintenance worker to perform planting, pruning, fertilization, and general care of planted areas. The role involves operating mowers, trimmers, and pruning tools, with tasks including trenching and irrigation work.

Candidates should have two years of horticultural experience, a valid Texas driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs. The position supports team or independent work and requires compliance with timekeeping policies.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a horticultural field such as landscape installation, grounds maintenance, plant production or pest control.
• May require Texas herbicide license in the future.

Responsibilities

• Plant trees, shrubs and flowers as part of landscape projects.
• Operate ride-on or push mowers and a range of tools (line trimmer, hedge trimmer, chainsaw, pole saw, pruning shears).
• Maintain and clean equipment and tools; assist in irrigation trenching and installation.
• Install landscapes including planting beds, hardscape elements and plant maintenance.
