Job summary

The City of Pasadena, TX is seeking a Landscape Maintenance Worker to perform planting, pruning, fertilization and general care of planted areas. You will operate a variety of mowers and pruning tools and assist with irrigation installation and hardscape projects.

Must be able to lift 80 lbs, work outdoors in all weather, and hold a Texas driver’s license with a good driving record. Two years of horticultural field experience is preferred; ability to work alone or in a team and to stand, bend,

Qualifications

• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record.
• Two years of experience in a horticultural field such as landscape installation, grounds maintenance, plant production or pest control.
• May require moderate to heavy lifting and carrying; kneeling, crouching and bending; pushing, pulling and reaching; standing for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance duties including planting, pruning, fertilization and general care of planted areas.
• Operate ride-on or push m mowing, line trimmer, hedge trimmer, chain saw, pole saw and pruning shears as needed.
• Assist in trenching and installation of irrigation systems; plant trees, shrubs and flowers.
• Maintain and clean equipment and tools; assist construction crew with hardscaped areas.
