Job summary

Jackson County Missouri Parks + Rec is seeking a Park Maintenance Worker to operate handheld and power equipment, perform asset and infrastructure improvements, and keep park facilities clean, including restrooms. This role supports safe, welcoming public spaces and joint team efforts across the parks department.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma, about one year of related work, and the ability to complete required training within six months while obtaining a Class B Missouri CDL with

• One year of related work experience.
• Training must be completed within six months of hiring.
• Must obtain a Class B Missouri Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement within six months of hire.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Job Duties

Responsible for operating various maintenance equipment such as handheld equipment, hand tools, and other power equipment; performs asset and infrastructure improvements and manual labor as necessary. Cleans and maintains park buildings, including restrooms.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or its equivalent.
• One year of work-related experience.
• Must complete Division specific training within six (6) months of hiring date.
• Must obtain a Class B Missouri Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement within six (6) months of hire.
• Must submit to/pass background check and drug screen.
