Job summary

Jacintoport International is seeking a hands-on Heavy Equipment Operator at the Houston port. The role requires operating yard trucks, coupling/uncoupling trailers, and performing pre-shift inspections to ensure safe, on-time cargo movement.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of heavy equipment experience, valid license, and a TWIC or the ability to obtain one in 90 days. Expect a long-term role with growth opportunities in a dynamic terminal.

Qualifications

• Must have one (1) year experience driving heavy equipment such as mule jockey or tractor trailer, or six months in Resin Warehouse with mule truck certification.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to read, write and speak basic English.
• Ability to operate and maneuver heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to obtain Transportation Worker’s Identification Credential (TWIC) within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Operate yard truck to transport containers and general cargo within a set timeframe.
• Perform pre-shift mechanical inspections and report deficiencies.
• Couple and uncouple trailers by adjusting jack positions and connecting lines.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions with proper signals.
• Maintain communication with Foreman and coworkers to ensure correct loads and locations.
