Job summary

Watco Port Manatee Terminal, LLC in Palmetto, FL is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely operate forklifts, backhoes, loaders, and other heavy machinery in our port environment.

You'll unload and load bulk and packaged materials, follow safety procedures, rotate shifts, and collaborate with dock and operations teams. A valid TWIC card is required; a CDL is preferred or obtainable. On-the-job training and career growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Must pass and obtain all required testing and certifications for this position.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Class A CDL preferred or willingness to obtain.
• TWIC credential is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy machinery such as forklifts, backhoes, loaders, vessel gear, and excavators safely and efficiently.
• Assist in unloading/loading bulk and packaged commodities from vessel, railcars, trucks, and storage facilities.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and maintain records.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with all applicable regulations and company standards.
• Read and interpret safety manuals, load charts, inventories, and maintenance manuals.
• Perform basic equipment repairs and communicate issues to maintenance staff.
