The Equipment Operator I classification is distinguished from the Maintenance Worker position based on the operation of various types of non-CDL equipment on a routine basis. The skills and knowledge required are of a level and scope to be in support of a journey, trades or crafts person.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as a laborer assisting in general trades using hand-tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to read slightly complex material such as operator manuals and perform simple arithmetic.
• Ability to use tools and equipment and complete related forms.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles that do not require a CDL on a routine basis.
• Support maintenance tasks and other essential functions as assigned.
• Adapt to location, assignment or shift requirements as needed.
