Job summary

The City of Midland, TX is seeking a Parks Maintenance Worker to operate equipment and perform groundskeeping across city facilities.

You will mow, trim, aerate, prepare ballfields, maintain irrigation, and assist with building projects. Strong communication and ability to read manuals are essential; a CDL is required for driving heavy equipment.

This is a full-time position with occasional overtime and report submission to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one to three years of experience.
• Valid Texas CDL driver's license required.
• Experience operating equipment such as tractors, mowers, trimmers, dump trucks, backhoes and other concrete and carpentry tools.

Ability to sit on equipment for extended periods of time. Employee will be exposed to both chemical and environmental hazards while measuring or applying pesticides or fertilizers. Ability to work in seasonal.

Ability to effectively communicate with employees in order to receive work orders or instructions for any project.

Ability to read operator's manuals and work orders. Skill in the operation of equipment such as tractors, mowers, trimmers, dump trucks, backhoes and other concrete and carpentry tools.
