Job summary

The City of Cambridge Department of Public Works seeks a Special Motor Equipment Operator IIA to perform skilled and unskilled tasks maintaining recreation areas, athletic fields, parks, and playgrounds. Under supervision, you will operate trucks, tractors, mowers, and occasionally hoisting gear with required licenses.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, load/unload of materials, and assisting skilled crafts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience maintaining recreation areas, athletic fields, parks, and playgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate motor equipment (pickup trucks, trailers, tractors, mowers) and heavy vehicles as required.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and basic servicing on some gear.
• Load/unload materials; assist in snow and salting operations when needed.
