DuPage County's Division of Transportation seeks an Equipment Operator I to safely operate a range of motorized equipment, from pickup trucks to sweepers and snowplows. The role involves performing heavy manual work, maintaining vehicles, and supporting roadway repairs.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED, two years of equipment operation, and an Illinois CDL with air brakes endorsement. Training is provided; post-offer drug screen and physical apply; on-call pay during November 1 to March

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience operating light to moderate motorized equipment.
• Illinois Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement required.
• We are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of motor vehicles and equipment (e.g. pickup truck, dump truck, sweeper, snowplow, polecat, chipper, etc.).
• Performs heavy manual work (e.g. construction of sidewalks and streets).
• Services and performs minor repairs and routine maintenance on motorized equipment.
• Repairs roadways and streets.
• Performs landscape maintenance.
• Additional duties as assigned.
