Job summary

The City and County of Denver is seeking a Utility Worker II to support Solid Waste Management under DOTI. The role involves physical labor, operating equipment, and assisting with maintenance tasks across multiple campuses in Denver.

Ideal candidates will handle various weather conditions, follow safety procedures, and be familiar with local streets and maps. Training is provided; after completion, a 4-day 10-hour shift schedule applies at Central Platte, Cherry Creek, or Rosalyn campuses.

Qualifications

• Experience with solid waste collection or related labor tasks.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Knowledge of City and County of Denver streets and maps.

Responsibilities

• Lifts and empties heavy solid waste containers into disposal trucks and operates related equipment.
• Assists skilled workers with minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Performs pre-trip inspections and maintains equipment.
• Places and removes traffic control devices and conducts exterior maintenance tasks.
• Participates in seasonal duties such as salting and snow removal.
