About the Position

We are currently seeking an experienced Equipment Operator at our Buffalo location, with a starting hourly rate of $52.26. The role involves extensive travel within the National Grid territory. Job Responsibilities

• Operate tractor trailers with high/low bed trailers and load/unload heavy equipment or materials.
• Operate heavy equipment around energized conductors, including backhoe excavators, bulldozers, truck cranes, conventional cranes, assorted tracked vehicles, and transmission conductor installation machinery.
• Install and remove utility poles, excavate roadways, dig utility pole holes, install and run conductors, and deliver materials and equipment.
• Respond to emergency calls during off-hours, which may require overnight stays and work in adverse conditions.
• Operate cranes using a man basket near energized conductors.
• Operate equipment in various environmental conditions within transmission rights of way.
• Perform manual labor and other duties as directed by supervision, working in a team environment.

Job Qualifications

• Valid CDL A license.
• NYS Crane Operators License, with the ability to obtain licenses in other states as necessary.
• At least 3.5 years of experience operating heavy equipment similar to that used by National Grid Transmission Line Services.
• Ability to obtain Hazardous Material and Class M endorsements.
• Ability to obtain a Certified Escort License for oversized loads.
• Ability to operate various vehicles and equipment safely in adverse conditions.
• Willingness to work different schedules, including holidays, weekends, and overtime.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment company tests.
• Hourly rate: $52.26.
