1. Operates and/or drives truck or light equipment
2. Performs road maintenance or construction related duties while operating equipment
3. May transport equipment and supplies
4. Controls traffic flow at work site
5. Performs routine maintenance on equipment or trucks and reports needed repairs
6. Performs all other related duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED + one (1) full-time year of related work experience
• OR five (5) full-time years of related work experience

Required licenses:

• A current and valid Class C driver license upon hire
• Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required within eight (8) months of hire

Additional requirements:

• Must take and pass a pre-placement physical examination and DOT drug test
• Must provide proof of educational attainment at new hire processing if hired

Background checks:

Tarrant County will conduct background checks including criminal history, and may include credit reports, motor vehicle records, employment, and educational verification. A conviction or deferred adjudication is not an automatic disqualification; each case is considered individually.

Physical requirements:

• Regularly required to stoop, bend, push, and pull
• May need to lift objects up to 100 pounds
