As the Equipment Operator – Matting Solutions, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. You will be required to work in all weather and be prepared for both extreme heat and cold environments.

Formerly YAK ACCESS, Matting Solutions is now part of the United Rentals Team and is one of North America's leading providers of right-of-way access solutions. From pipelines to power lines to civil projects, we offer unmatched expertise in total access planning, clearing, site work and restoration services.

What You'll Do

• Perform safety and maintenance checks, pre- and post-equipment inspections with documentation in compliance with company policies
• Participate in routine maintenance and ensure heavy equipment is safely stored
• Communicate effectively with site personnel and practice workplace safety
• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintain logs of equipment usage and maintenance
• Understand ground signals and maintain eye contact with ground personnel
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write fluently in English
• Valid driver's license
• 1-3 years of experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment on large projects
• Ability to operate equipment independently with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of safety hazards and inspection principles
• Skill in reading and interpreting access and construction plans
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to travel and work extensive overtime

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive per United Rentals' policies.
