Job summary

Rural King is seeking a skilled Mechanic I to diagnose, service, and repair customer and company-owned equipment in our in-store repair shop. You will support small engines, tractors, diesel equipment, hydraulic systems, and outdoor power equipment while managing repair work orders, parts, warranty claims, and customer service.

The role requires strong mechanical troubleshooting, experience with diagnostic tools, and the ability to handle multiple work orders while delivering excellent customer

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing and repairing small engines, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, or related equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with hand tools and software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
• Ability to manage multiple repair work orders and communicate with customers.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and repair procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain engines and outdoor power equipment.
• Manage customer repair work orders from intake through completion, including documentation and warranty claims.
• Perform preventative maintenance and intermediate-level service.
• Use diagnostic software, multimeters, service tools, and schematics to identify issues and complete repairs.
• Document work performed, parts used, and recommended next steps; communicate with customers.
