Job summary

Rural King is seeking a skilled Mechanic I to diagnose, service, and repair equipment in our in-store repair shop, including small engines, tractors, diesel equipment, and hydraulic systems. You will manage repair work orders, parts, warranty claims, and customer service.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, using diagnostic tools, performing preventative maintenance, and documenting all repairs. Safety, teamwork, and strong communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills in diagnosing and repairing small engines, diesel engines, hydraulic systems.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, multimeters, service tools, repair manuals, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, diagnose and repair small engines, tractors, diesel equipment, hydraulic systems, and outdoor power equipment.
• Manage customer repair work orders from intake through completion, including documentation, parts ordering, repairs, and warranty claims.
• Perform preventative maintenance and intermediate-level service on customer and company-owned equipment.
• Use diagnostic software, multimeters, service tools, repair manuals, schematics, and system diagrams to identify issues and complete repairs.
• Document work performed, repair progress, identified issues, parts used, and recommended next steps.
• Communicate repair recommendations, service updates, and maintenance information to customers.
