Rural King is seeking a Mechanic I to diagnose, service, and repair customer and company-owned equipment in our in-store repair shop. The role covers small engines, tractors, diesel equipment, hydraulic systems, and outdoor power equipment, with responsibility for repair orders, parts, and warranty claims.

Ideal candidates will have strong mechanical troubleshooting and experience with diagnostic tools, multimeters, and service manuals.

Qualifications

• Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills with experience diagnosing and repairing small engines, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, or related equipment.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, multimeters, service tools, and schematics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.
• Ability to manage multiple repair work orders and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain small engines, tractors, diesel equipment, hydraulic systems, and outdoor power equipment.
• Manage customer repair work orders from intake through completion, including documentation, parts ordering, repairs, and warranty claims.
• Perform preventative maintenance and intermediate-level service on customer and company-owned equipment.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to identify issues and complete repairs.
• Document progress, identified issues, parts used, and recommended next steps.
• Communicate repair recommendations and maintenance information to customers.
