The Opportunity

Some people see a broken machine. You see a problem waiting to be solved.

At Alpha Inc., we don't just operate heavy equipment. We depend on it to move mountains, build infrastructure, and get the job done for Hawai?i.

And behind every machine that shows up ready to work is a mechanic who knows their stuff.

We're looking for an Equipment Mechanic who doesn't need someone standing over their shoulder, doesn't believe in shortcuts, and takes serious pride in getting the job done right.

This isn't a job for someone who just changes oil and swaps parts.

We need a problem-solver, a troubleshooter, and a hands-on professional who can diagnose what's wrong, figure out how to fix it, and get our equipment back in action safely and efficiently.

Excavators. Dozers. Loaders. Graders. Haul trucks. Backhoes. On-highway vehicles.

If it's big, powerful, and built to work hard, you'll help keep it running.

Because at Alpha, downtime costs more than money. It costs momentum.

If you're the kind of mechanic who takes ownership, thrives on challenges, and believes your reputation is built on the quality of your work, we want to talk.

About Alpha Inc.

Alpha Inc. isn't your average construction company.

We're a locally owned, Hawai?i-grown company making a serious impact across heavy civil construction, renewable energy, concrete, drilling, and infrastructure development.

We're building the roads, utilities, and critical infrastructure that Hawai?i's communities depend on.

And we're doing it with people who believe that hard work, integrity, and taking care of one another still matter.

Our culture is built on three core values:

Leading with Heart – We put people first. We lead with humility, respect, and accountability. We look out for our teammates because everyone deserves to go home safe.

Strength in Unity – No egos. No silos. One team working together to get the job done right.

Alpha Mentality – Grit. Ownership. Relentless improvement. We don't walk away from challenges. We figure them out.

These aren't just words on a wall.

They're how we work, how we treat people, and what we expect from everyone wearing the Alpha name.

What You'll Do

As an Equipment Mechanic, you're one of the people responsible for keeping Alpha's operations moving.

Your work directly impacts equipment reliability, jobsite productivity, and the safety of the crews who depend on our machines every day.

Keep the Iron Running

Inspect, service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a diverse fleet of heavy construction equipment and on-highway vehicles.

Work on excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, haul trucks, and other equipment essential to our operations.

Perform preventive maintenance to identify potential problems before they turn into costly breakdowns.

Help minimize downtime by completing repairs safely, accurately, and efficiently.

Diagnose It. Fix It. Own It.

Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify the root cause of equipment failures.

Use diagnostic tools, technical resources, and hands‑on expertise to determine effective repair solutions.

Perform repairs with attention to quality, safety, and long‑term equipment reliability.

Test and inspect repaired equipment to verify proper operation before returning it to service.

We don't want someone who just clears the fault code. We want someone who figures out why it happened.

Stay Ahead of the Breakdown

Perform scheduled inspections, servicing, and preventive maintenance.

Identify wear, damage, and developing mechanical issues before they become major failures.

Communicate equipment concerns and repair needs to the Equipment Superintendent.

Assist with identifying and ordering the parts, materials, and supplies needed to complete repairs.

Take Pride in the Details

Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair documentation, and service histories.

Follow established maintenance procedures and manufacturer recommendations.

Keep tools, equipment, and work areas organized and safe.

Support compliance with applicable equipment safety standards and regulations.

Be the Teammate Everyone Counts On

Work closely with the Equipment Superintendent, operators, field crews, and other team members to support equipment readiness.

Communicate clearly about equipment conditions, repair progress, and potential delays.

Take ownership of your work and follow through on commitments.

Follow established safety procedures and speak up when something isn't right.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Equipment Superintendent.

Bottom line: When equipment goes down, you're part of the team that gets Alpha moving again.

What You Bring

We're not looking for someone who simply knows how to turn a wrench.

We're looking for someone who understands the equipment, takes pride in the work, and has the discipline to do things right.

Experience & Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

Valid driver's license required.

Type 4 driver's license or CDL Class A preferred.

Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Demonstrated troubleshooting, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair capabilities.

Ability to use diagnostic equipment and technical resources to identify mechanical problems.

Commitment to safe work practices and quality repairs.

The Skills That Set You Apart

You think before you wrench.
You don't just throw parts at a problem. You diagnose the issue and work toward the right solution.

You take ownership.
If your name is on the repair, you stand behind the quality of the work.

You know downtime matters.
You understand that equipment reliability affects schedules, productivity, and the crews counting on you.

You don't compromise safety.
You know that getting equipment back to work means nothing if it isn't safe to operate.

You communicate like a professional.
You keep the right people informed, ask questions when needed, and work well with others.

You're always learning.
Equipment evolves. Technology changes. Great mechanics keep sharpening their skills.

What Success Looks Like

At Alpha, performance isn't measured by how busy you look.

It's measured by the quality of your work and the reliability of the equipment you help maintain.

Successful Equipment Mechanics consistently demonstrate:

Equipment Reliability
Equipment is maintained and repaired to support safe, dependable operations.

Effective Troubleshooting
Mechanical issues are accurately diagnosed and addressed with solutions that minimize repeat failures.

Preventive Maintenance Discipline
Scheduled maintenance is completed thoroughly, and potential problems are identified early.

Quality Workmanship
Repairs are completed correctly, tested appropriately, and documented accurately.

Safety Without Compromise
Established safety procedures are followed, hazards are communicated, and equipment is not returned to service until it is safe to operate.

Accountability & Teamwork
You communicate, follow through, support your teammates, and take pride in contributing to Alpha's success.

We don't expect perfection. We expect professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to getting better every day.
