Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Alpha Inc. in Hawaii is seeking a skilled Welder to repair and fabricate heavy equipment across project sites and in our facilities. You’ll tackle diverse jobs, read blueprints, and ensure safe, high-quality workmanship.
The role requires at least three years of welding experience, a valid welding certification, and ability to travel to sites. We offer a competitive hourly base pay, benefits, and weekly pay.
Anybody can lay a bead. We’re looking for someone whose work can take a beating.
At Alpha Inc., our equipment works hard — excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, haul trucks, rigs, and more. Keeping that iron moving takes a Welder who knows their craft, takes pride in doing the job right, and understands that a quality repair can make the difference between equipment getting back to work and a project grinding to a halt.
This isn’t a production-line welding job.
You’ll work in our facilities and out in the field, tackling repairs and fabrication on the heavy equipment and components our crews rely on every day. Some jobs will be straightforward. Others will require you to assess the problem, figure out the right repair, and execute it safely and correctly — sometimes in less-than-perfect conditions.
We’re looking for someone who brings skill without ego, respects the trade, looks out for the crew, and owns the quality of their work.
If that sounds like how you operate, keep reading.
Founded and grown in Hawai?i, Alpha Inc. is a locally owned leader in heavy civil construction, renewable energy, concrete services, drilling, and infrastructure solutions.
We build and support projects that matter to Hawai?i’s communities, and we expect our people to bring craftsmanship, accountability, and pride to the work.
Three core values guide how we operate:
Leading with Heart — Work safely. Respect the people around you. Look out for your crew and leave the workplace better than you found it.
Strength in Unity — No lone wolves. We communicate, collaborate, and work as one team to get the job done.
Alpha Mentality — Take ownership. Solve problems. Keep learning. When something needs to get done, step up and make it happen.
For our Welder, those values show up in every repair, every inspection, every jobsite, and every piece of equipment you send back into service.
As a Welder at Alpha Inc., you’ll help keep our equipment, projects, and crews moving.
Travel to Alpha project sites and perform welding and repair work as directed by the Heavy Equipment Manager.
Cut, join, fabricate, and repair metal components for heavy construction equipment, rigs, pipes, and other applications.
Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions.
Read drawings, blueprints, and measurements to determine layouts and welding procedures.
Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment and use tools including angle grinders, clamps, saws, calipers, and related equipment.
A weld isn’t finished just because it looks finished.
Inspect completed welds and surfaces for structural flaws and workmanship.
Use appropriate inspection and testing methods to help ensure repairs meet required quality standards.
Pay attention to fit-up, measurements, materials, and details before, during, and after the weld.
Take ownership of your work and address problems instead of passing them down the line.
Our equipment earns its keep in demanding environments. Your work helps make sure it stays there.
You may work on excavators, dozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, haul trucks, rigs, pipes, and other heavy equipment and components across Alpha’s operations.
You’ll need to be comfortable climbing on, working around, and getting underneath equipment when the job requires it.
Maintain welding equipment and tools so they are safe, functional, and ready to work.
Follow workplace, jobsite, and trade safety requirements and practices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Recognize hazards and speak up when something isn’t right.
Complete required time and equipment usage reports accurately.
Perform other duties as assigned.
We’re looking for a proven tradesperson — not someone who needs to be convinced that quality, safety, and accountability matter.
Minimum three (3) years of welding experience required.
Valid welding certification from an accredited institution preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints preferred.
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record preferred.
Knowledge of welding equipment, techniques, and metal properties.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in a variety of physical environments, including climbing on and working underneath heavy equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Commitment to following applicable workplace and trade safety requirements and practices.
Technical skill matters. How you work matters just as much.
You take pride in laying down work you’d put your name on.
You don’t ignore a questionable weld, unsafe condition, damaged tool, or potential problem because “someone else will handle it.”
You can take direction without needing your hand held.
You understand that downtime costs money and impacts the entire crew — but you never trade safety or quality for speed.
You solve problems instead of creating excuses.
And when the job gets dirty, difficult, or inconvenient, you bring the same standard of workmanship you would when everything is going perfectly.
That’s Alpha Mentality.
At Alpha Inc., welding isn’t a background function. Your work directly supports the people and equipment building Hawai?i’s infrastructure.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of heavy equipment and projects, solve real-world repair challenges, and be part of a crew where craftsmanship and accountability matter.
We want people who are serious about their trade — and who want their work to mean something when the hood comes up.
