Job summary

King Asphalt is seeking an Equipment Manager to lead fleet maintenance, support our people, and keep equipment safe and dependable across our operating region in Greenville, SC. This hands-on leadership role owns maintenance priorities, equipment availability, costs, vendors, and long-term fleet planning.

You’ll work with operations and safety leaders to ensure right equipment at the right time, while guiding technicians and shop leaders to do their best work.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, shops, or operations.
• At least three years in leading people, programs, or vendors.
• Strong knowledge of heavy construction equipment, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and safe shop and field practices.
• Experience managing costs, working with vendors, and making repair and replacement decisions.
• The ability to build trust with technicians, operators, and leaders while setting priorities and following through.
• Comfort using maintenance systems, telematics, and operational data to make practical decisions.
• Experience in asphalt, roadbuilding, aggregates, or heavy civil construction; travel to shops, plants, jobsites, and vendors.

• Partner with operations on equipment assignments, transfers, rentals, and utilization.

• Coach team members, strengthen shop processes, and use fleet data to turn recurring problems into lasting improvements.

You’ll work closely with operations and safety leaders to get the right equipment to the right job—and help technicians and shop leaders do their best work.

• Strong knowledge of heavy construction equipment, maintenance planning, troubleshooting, and safe shop and field practices.
• Experience managing costs, working with vendors, and making sound repair and replacement decisions.
• The ability to build trust with technicians, operators, and leaders while setting priorities and following through.
• Comfort using maintenance systems, telematics, and operational data to make practical decisions.
• Experience in asphalt, roadbuilding, aggregates, or heavy civil construction is especially valuable. This role involves regular travel to shops, plants, jobsites, and vendors, with occasional after-hours response to critical equipment issues.
