Job summary

King Aspalt, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our local operations. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance of a variety of heavy machinery including asphalt pavers, milling machines, and motor graders.

You will diagnose, repair, and fabricate as needed. Responsibilities include welding, adjusting electrical, hydraulic, engine, and transmission systems, maintaining safety standards, and reporting to the Shop Foreman.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in heavy equipment mechanics.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Able to work days, nights, or weekends.
• Must have a valid driver's license and meet MVR requirements.
• Employer conducts drug testing and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy equipment (pavers, milling machines, motor graders).
• Diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs.
• Welding and fabricating.
• Adjust electrical, hydraulic, engine, and transmission systems on diesel/power equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow safety procedures.
• Provide updates to Shop Foreman in writing and verbally.

King Asphalt, Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our local operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment. Includes Asphalt Pavers, Milling Machines, Motor Graders, etc..
• Diagnose and correct mechanical problems
• Welding and fabricating
• Ability to perform a variety of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic adjustments and repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles and heavy construction equipment
• Ability to diagnose problems and make the appropriate adjustments, repairs, or replacements to electrical, hydraulic, engine, transmission, drive train, and mechanical systems
• Ability to use a variety of tools including but not limited to personal tools, common shop hand tools, hoist or crane equipment, grinders, welders, power tools, precision mechanic tools
• Maintain a clean work environment and follow safe practices and procedures
• Provide updates to Shop Foreman on all repairs and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Complete required record keeping and reporting utilizing company software including Fleetwatcher.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in heavy equipment mechanics - diesel and hydraulics
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to workdays, nights, or weekends as needed
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid driver's license
• Employer conducts drug testing and background check
• Complete other assignments as requested.
